eCitizen II to present at the EuroPCom conference

eCitizen II Project Manager Hannes Astok at the INTERREG IVC Good Practice Fair in KrakowThe eCitizen II project was selected to present their experience at the 3rd European Conference on Public Communication (EuroPCom), taking place on 17-18 October 2012 in Brussels.

The EuroPCom conference is a meeting place for communication managers and senior experts of local, regional, national and European authorities. Last year, over 600 people took part in this networking event.

In 2012, the conference focuses on [Re]connecting citizens. The lectures, debates and interactive workshops will focus on communication challenges such as restoring public confidence, communicating Europe, e-communication and social media, and dialogue with youth, senior citizens and ethnic groups. More information about the themes tackled is available in the conference programme.

The eCitizen II project will present their experience on e-participation in workshop A2 “Thinking strategy: How to best use social media”. More specifically, Project Manager Hannes Astok will give an overview of selected good practices and the ‘5-step implementation model of e-participation’. For eCitizen II it is also a good opportunity to promote their Pan-European Best Practice Manual on eParticipation, where practitioners all over Europe can share their good practices on e-participation tools and processes.

A short interview with the eCitizen II project manager is available on the EuroPCom website.

Registration to the conference is open until 10 October 2012. Participation is free of charge for all public communication colleagues from local, regional, national and EU authorities.
