INTERREG IVC celebrates European Cooperation Day

European Cooperation Day logoOn 21 September 2012, people celebrate the first European Cooperation Day (ECD).  That day marks the improvements made in regions all over Europe and in neighbouring countries thanks to their mutual cooperation. The INTERREG IVC programme also joins in the celebration.

Close to 150 events take place in various corners of Europe during the whole week from 17 to 23 September. They range from fairs, photo contests, concerts and conferences to picnics or sport games. All the events honour achievements of European territorial cooperation (This is the EU Regional policy’s third pillar of the programming period 2007-2013 and succeeds the Interreg III Community Initiative. With the present programming ...) projects. Those projects bring together people from different regions in order to solve common or similar problems, for example, concerning transport, innovation, environment or education.

See whether you can be part of the celebration in your region at the ECD map of events.

Apart from the events, the European Cooperation Day launched a website with an interesting overview of successful projects, so-called Flagship Stories. The INTERREG IVC programme presents there 3 success stories on innovation, entrepreneurship and air pollution. They are about the achievements of ERIK ACTION, PASE and CITEAIR II projects.

INTERREG IVC also invites you to take part in a European Day Cooperation quiz with valuable prizes for the most knowledgeable and fastest respondent. The quiz will be open at the INTERREG IVC website that week. You can check your knowledge of interregional cooperation (Part of the C strand of the ETC (as well as of the former Interreg III Community Initiative), its aim is to promote exchange and transfer of knowledge and best ...) with us.
