IP North info days kicked off in Germany

Karlsruhe regional info day - 8 December 2010The INTERREG IVC fourth call for proposals (period of time in which applications can be submitted to the Joint Technical Secretariat) is open from 1 December 2010 until 1 April 2011. In the light of this call and taking into account the results of the geographic and thematic gap analysis carried out in the programme’s North area, Information Point (a body constituted in order to provide information as well as to promote the programme in a defined area) North in cooperation with the German regional contact points organised three INTERREG IVC regional information days in Germany.

The info days in Karlsruhe (8 December), Regensburg (9 December), and Erfurt (10 December) gathered a total of 80 participants. The events provided general information about the programme and presented specific requirements for its fourth call for proposals. The participants also learned about the quality assessment (Second step of a two-step evaluation procedure operations applying for ERDF funds have to pass successfully in order to be considered for ERDF funding) criteria as well as the common mistakes to avoid.

Interesting insights into developing and implementing an INTERREG IVC project were provided by several German partners: Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (e.g. partner in POOLING4CLUSTERS), TraffIQ (e.g. partner in PIMMS TRANSFER), and Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (e.g. Lead Partner in Brain Flow).

Erfurt regional info day - 10 December 2010German regional contact points presented additional information about the support possibilities within their federal states.

After the events, several project idea owners used the possibility to have an individual consultation to get feedback to their project idea from programme representatives. The seminar also provided a good opportunity to network with other project developers and regional experts.

IP North would like to thank everybody for their active participation. We would especially like to thank the project partners for their interesting presentations and all the regional contact points for their kind support in organising the events.

In 2011, similar national events will be organised in Finland, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, and Sweden. Future Lead Applicants are welcome to take part in the Lead Applicant Seminars in Helsinki and Frankfurt.
