To promote environmental awareness and to encourage Cypriot businesses to contribute to environmental protection.

Good Practice Information

Chrysofylli Drys (Gold Leaf Oak) was founded as a Non Profit Organisation by Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to promote environmental awareness to its Members and encourage them to contribute to environmental protection through CSR. Chrysofylli Drys can collect donations, contributions and subscriptions, as well as carbon offsetting services, to fund its activities. Chrysofylli
Drys uses a variety of communication media to achieve its aims. It organises and coordinates the first environmental cooperation network in Cyprus with firms, local authorities, environmental groups and the public. In collaboration with government agencies, environmental organisations and academia, Chrysofylli Drys prepares surveys, studies and seminars in schools, colleges and companies.

Evidence of success

There have not yet been any surveys on the direct results attained by the organisation, but taking into consideration that the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has well over 3000 members as well as the systematic promotion of Chrysofylli Drys to the members of the Chamber, it is safe to assume that this Good Practise has contributed substantially to raising environmental awareness.
