Good Practice Information

As part of their efforts to comprehensively rehabilitate urban areas of special architectural, historical, artistic, cultural, environmental or social interest Burgos has installed 200 LED lamps accompanied by modern streetlights designed to improve the aesthetics in the San Esteban area. This action is part of a project with a general budget of 3,3 million €. The overall project is intended to improve the upper old town (one of the most degraded areas of the city), through accessibility and mobility actions, such as the replacement of sidewalks

The use of LED lamps is a test of this technology for the rest of the city.

Evidence of success

LED technology allows energy savings by reducing power consumption. This installation will be a test of this technology for the rest of the City. The intervention is developed in a crucial area en route to the Upper Castle remains, a modern art museum and other historical heritage...so it should have a good effect on commercial and tourist activity.
