Support to SMEs in Region Midtjylland. Inspiration to increase innovation by using and implementing ICT in: Business Models, Products and Processes. Pervasive computing and creating ICT-based business networks internationally.

Good Practice Information

Innovative ICT Business Development and the I-Kraft has been arranged after the following model:. 6 networking agents is hired ans placed in the main municipalityof the region. One agent is situatied in the premises of Agro Business Park. The practice is managged by a consortium of 3 Important organisations in the region: IT-forum midtjylland www.itforum.dk, Alexandra institute www.alexandra.dk, Innovation Lab www. ilab.dk.The services are: Connecting SMEs to Knowledge Institutes, Providing funding for innovative business, Enhancing research & development in SME, Matchmaking B2B and B2R&D.
The budget is Euro 11,5 mill. In short time the project has had a huge impact on SMEs use of innovative ICT. Geography makes a difference - even in such a small region. So be local - The Networksagent in the municipality is therefore hired according to the concentration of business in the areas ig. Tjele - networksagent is expert in agrofood.

Evidence of success

Qualitative results: Agrofood: slurry wagons optimized by GPS and ICT. Track & Trace developed in Food processing. Moving Metal ICT networks, Embedded Software in products. Seminars: More than 3500 people have attended the seminars. More than 500 SME have been visited, 25 projects have been etablished, 4 R&D colaborations with University of Aarhus. New Freemium Business models established.
