Topic of the practice

coordinated by the Észak-Alföld Regional Development Agency (ÉARDA) in order to provide internship opportunities for partner organizations of the region to develop competences in international environment.

Good Practice Information

The practice aims to encourage the establishment of a European network of regional organizations by means of experts’ mobility projects including diversified types of host organizations. Expertise of trainees sent is increased and their view can be widened, benefitting the sending orgainizations like county governments, mayor’s offices etc. Based on external good practices the trainees can improve
their organization’s operation and encourage them to take part in international projects. To increase knowledge and gain experiences, the participation in the internship program is opened to all employees. The main aim of the internships is the delivery of the host institutions' experiences by involving the trainees in their daily work. The duration of the internships is four or eight weeks.

Evidence of success

Participants learn about project management techniques and working methods. Afterwards they become the catalysts of their region's development by using the knowledge gained
11 host organizations from 6 different countries and 12 sending institutions involved. 53 trainees fulfilled traineeship. Consequently further cooperations were established between the hosting and sending organizations.
