Good Practice Information
The entity that designed, launched and is currently running this initiative (i.e. full-time e-learning course) is the Start-up Entrepreneurship Centre under the management of the JVM-RPIC, Ltd., an advisory agency. This team of professionals has a lot of experience with full-time courses and consultancy for unemployed people who want to start their own business. The idea of the course arose from the fact that full-time courses are generally expensive and not reachable for not registered people or people who are not allowed to take part in these courses. Goals of the initiative: a) education and training not only for registered people (unemployed etc.); b) low cost education reachable for public (to change full-time education granted by labour offices – limited approach etc.); c) keeping of the personal approach even during the e-learning system; d) to enable mutual communication among the participants even in the e-learning educational system.
Advantages of the initiative: a) affordability for public (without state or local support); b) theoretical knowledge; c) practical exercises according to the personal needs; d) reduce the risk; e) support from experienced people; f) sharing of the needs, troubles and information concerning the start-up. Recently, the Start-up Entrepreneurship Centre deals with the Junior Achievement about using the e-learning program in the framework of the Junior Achievement programmes and activities.
Evidence of success
In this period of operation, the initiative has achieved the following:
- number of the licence sold: 80 (licence for the e-learning course)
- number of on-line "social environment" users: 628 (sharing information and experience)
- number of on-line testing: 145 (auto identification test - entrepreneurial skills)
- number of Business Plan module usages: 90 (the University classes)
