Good Practice Information

The Green Workshop Wendland is an open innovation platform that connects design-, engineering- and bussiness- universities from German metropoles with small and medium sized companies at the rural district of Lüchow-Dannenberg. With this approach the urban high-potentials at the heigher education institutions work together with companies at the countryside and thus enable new fomats of knowledge-
transfer,design, research and development. The long term perspective of the Green Workshop Wendland is to build up an interdisciplinary innovation hub that links city and countryside,companies & universities, innovation & sustainibility. The project is guided by a local working group with local stakeholders. Financial resources ERDF-Funding objective 1 lower-saxony for cluster-networking 120.000€

Evidence of success

Network-building between local stakeholders and regional companies. Cooperations between regional companies and universities. Expected output is the development of implementable sustainable products, services, processes and products. Formats are project-weeks and a Wendland-Design-Camp with universities to build up start-ups for students or create jobs with regional companies.
