Good Practice Information

The eLivingLab created a cross-border eRegion and was developed by the University of Maribor and a cluster of software SMEs. New eSolutions models such as eCommerce, eGovernment & eLearning were tested and introduced for everyday use by local businesses and citizen services. 2 tools: (i) Checklist for concept evaluation & (ii) Checklist for Discoverers’ Needs evaluation allow the involvement of
different stakeholders as well as end users in the creation of products. Beneficiaries were: 1 academic institution, 2 public institutions, 1 governmental institution, 1 business association, 3 private companies and 30 students involved in focus groups where the tools were tested. This leads to a more sustainable product development route compared to a single company developing a new product.

Evidence of success

Development of a research & testing platform
Participation in the LL open to organisations in neighbouring countries creating an eRegion
Resulting initiatives included:
An international network at regional level, sharing common ideas/knowledge in teaching & research
A new e-learning and e-Mentoring solution for SMEs in the European IT sector
Increased SME involvement in eInvoicing
