Good Practice Information

The purpose of the Cradle to Cradle Platform ( is to provide companies and organizations with the opportunity to examine the feasibility of Cradle to Cradle for their products. The C2C Platform also has as an objective to further enable knowledge building and the exchange of experience. The Cradle to Cradle Platform is aimed at companies and organizations from different industries or different parts of the supply chain, e.g. a production company, a supplier or a waste processor. Workshops are organized for members of the Platform. As a result of the Cradle to Cradle Platform, concrete Cradle to Cradle projects for the individual product groups may be started. The platform is coordinated by Sustenuto, a Brussels based sustainability consultancy and also satellite partner for Belgium of Michael Braungart and EPEA, the environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (EPEA) Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH.
It works by means of 5 clusters. 1. Community Creation: is a very important aspect of moving forward the C2C concept in Belgium and keeping it in the spotlight. The concrete activities are the development of, including a 3 minutes movie explaining C2C, participation to conferences and giving presentations. 2. Coaching: of companies interested in either exploring the feasibility of applying the C2C concept to their products or the support of companies that would like to apply the C2C innovation concept or the assistance in the C2C certification process. 3. Training: consists mainly of a continuation of the successful C2C workshops as well as in-company training modules when required. 4. Research and Development: Projects comprise either the participation in steering groups of policy studies, the execution of policy studies or C2C development projects. 5. C2C Office: its creation, including furniture will be one of the clusters of the C2C Platform for 2012.
