Support to technology transfer through promotion of early stage technologies in the biotech sector, with a view to developing partnership and revenues.

Good Practice Information

Biotech Pipeline is a technology portal developed to promote the life science technologies emanating from the laboratories of the University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble. In marketing terms the "look and feel" of the project was deliberately positioned around the "lifestyle" theme of big pharma websites. This was done to ensure that the companies saw the relevance of the projects and to make them
understand the synergies that exist between the researchers work and their own. The project was launched in 2009 and is translated into English and French, though English is the main language. The site cost 5000€ and took 2 months of one person's time to create it. Update: 7 hours max of manpower for the creation of datasheet, translation and upload on to the site.

Evidence of success

The project's success can be measured quantitively via the leads that it has developed but also qualitively, having received a wide range of positive feedback from industrial contacts. Around 500 visitors per month browsed the various offerings that are advertised on this portal, and it generated around 25 leads per year for new potential partnerships or business.
