Good Practice Information

Malta Enterprise felt the need to set up a Digital Hub, which main goals would be:
• Provide industrial/office space to entrepreneurs
• Enhance the human resources capacity
• Encourage more investments in IT and Creative Clusters
• Attract new businesses in the Digital Sector
• Develop networking between Creative Clusters sub-sectors
• Generate new employment opportunities

• Create foreign revenue from invisible/visible exports
For such purpose, it worked on different parallel actions:
• Formulation of the National Strategy for the Cultural and Creative Industries
• Identific. of Strategic Projects
• Identific. of Major Milestones
• Clustering of Stakeholders
• Encouraging the reform process
• Working with the private sector
• Linkages with educational institutions

Evidence of success

Networking with TV stations & producers, Faculty of ICT, UoM, Dpt of ICT, MCAST, Digital Games, Online Gaming Cluster, Films Production Cluster, Local Talents & Creativity Clusters
2 projects approved that will start operation by the beginning of fourth quarter 2015. Estimated total employment envisaged over the next 3 years is +-180. Project financed through ERDF funds (2007-2013 period)
