Good Practice Information

The programme designed a portfolio of four specific tracks of services in English about business set up, work, research, study and 1 common track of personal landing services on issues such as migration permits, city facilities and housing and schooling support.The programme was developed through a strong collaboration with city, regional and national institutions such as universities, research
centres, business schools and economic stakeholders.The main financial resources are ERDF+EFS funds (while separate programme). Do it in Barcelona introduced a new approach to attract individual talented human capital differing from the traditional regional and local economic promotion strategies, mainly based on the attraction of corporations.

Evidence of success

Do It in Barcelona received the Eurocities Award 2010 for its programmes of talent attraction and support to entrepreneurship. The programme has been able to engage collaboration with 15 public and private partners.Number of start-ups with foreign business founders (both EU and non EU) at Glories Business Incubator (Barcelona Activa): 16 out of 54 companies (30%)
