Good Practice Information

Macroom E is a dynamic community enterprise centre, located about 40km west of Cork City. The centre is housed in a modern, environmentally friendly building which can accommodate many types of businesses in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
The enterprise centre is well served with all the infrastructure a business will need for its operations and there is a dedicated team at Macroom E to help all clients to develop their business. The core mission of Macroom E is the promotion of good environmental practices.
Macroom E helps start-up and small businesses to grow in a supportive and dynamic working environment, with the added advantage of sharing information and knowledge with fellow entrepreneurs.
The building offers a wide choice of office space ranging from hot desks and small offices to industrial units, the aim of this is to suit any requirements new or expanding companies may have.

Evidence of success

Macroom E awards and nominations:
- Finalist in the 2004 Sustainable Energy Awards.
- SMILE won “Best Eco Friendly Initiative” at the Local Authority Members Association Awards 2013.
- Nominated for a Chamber of Commerce Award for the Eco Business Ireland training programme in 2007.
- Hosted and received an Eco Business Ireland Award in 2008.
- Nominated for a European Enterprise Award in 2009.
- SMILE Resource Exchange was shortlisted for the 2011 Green Awards.
