incubators market their knowledge as an incubator to other organisations establishing an incubator. The organisation sells its educational method, aimed at raising awareness of entrepreneurial opportunities among school pupils and students, to other regional authorities in Spain.
There is certainly some income-generating potential in this, provided that there is a market: the incubator is able to offer a distinct quality method or program, and higher education institutions are willing and able to pay for this.

Evidence of success

Revenue generated, jobs safeguarded. In the case of Valnalón Aviles, the transfer of know-how to other regions in and outside Spain generated 30% of the incubator’s income at the time of the study visit (2013), making it a substantial source of income. Since this for a large part concerns ‘raising awareness’ of potential start-ups, it is impossible to say how many new start-ups it will generate.
