Good Practice Information

Model implemented in the FVG Region to manage ICT in PA and to provide services to citizens. The IT infrastructures, applications, databases, procedures and network provided by the Region are gathered in an Integrated Information System (SIIR). The Region leans on an in house company, Insiel, for SIIR setup, management and maintenance, and organizes its activities on the basis of a 3-years plan
Insiel good practice is based on the political will of delegating and centralizing the management of the ICT services to an autonomous operational entity, working under the control of an administrative institution and having this institution as its main customer. This is also the main condition for the transferability of the practice. and the model is particularly suitable in an economy of scale.

Evidence of success

Services provided: over 500 software for PA structures. Over 4000 PA data centers in the territory aggregated, reducing the infrastructure fragmentation and costs. This rationalization effort is still ongoing. Insiel expertise is also exploited for the digital education of the PA, with over 2000 courses for the Regional and Local entities staff and over 500 courses for the Healthcare staff.
