Good Practice Information

The project deals with overcoming the digital divide as a mean for local development and socio-economic growth in rural areas. The main lesson learned consists of the fact that encouraging and strengthening the diffusion of ICT facilities is crucial for bridging the digital gap and for enhancing the rural development, also and above all in the perspective of the post-earthquake reconstruction.
The transfer of the Good Practice could be possible in regions where there are similar (pre)conditions in terms of 1) Significant digital divide, 2) Loss of competitiveness of the economic environment or 3) Increasing depopulation.

Evidence of success

The implementation of the Good Practice aims at 1) Developing better access to broad band and ICT services for citizens, 2) Improve living conditions, 3) Increase access to telework, telemedicine, e-commerce, e-learning, teleconferencing, 4) Enhance ICT advantages for the enterprises, 5) Promoting socio-economic cohesion and 6) Encourage growth and competitiveness of the entrepreneurial sector.
