The resource centre ilab shows how the ICT use in SMEs, including tourism operators, can be improved so that their customer services, business efficiency and competitiveness can be improved.
The implementation of high speed broadband throughout the county had shown that it was important to support SMEs in developing web practises and tools to take full advantage of the connectivity. Therefore, Niverlan decided to implement a programme of training and consultancy services aimed at SMEs, and to locate this support in a dedicated resource centre. In order to achieve this, it set up a partnership with:
- the Massif Central region, with the Cybermassif program,
- the network of cyberbases in the county,
- the Mission Numérique of Morvan territory (contiguous geographical area in the Nièvre)
- GIP e-Bourgogne.
The resource centre ilab was launched in May 2011. It was the starting point to offer training and consultancy to local SMEs, including tourism operators. It acts like a showroom for web facilities available to SMEs.
A planning schedule of training activities was set up, publications were produced, web support developed (newsletter, website and facebook page), and a mailing list send out to all target organizations. Examples of the training activities are: how to use social media in business development strategies, how to implement an e-marketing campaign, how to write a web site specification, …etc.  

Evidence of success

Indicators are as follow :
- SME satisfaction rate after each training
- 14 meeting organised per year
- 45 SMEs consultancy undertaken per year
