Topic of the practice

Implementation of a new e-service in the field of electronic exchange of digital data (touristic routes)

Good Practice Information is an example of an application which provides users with new possibilities of conversing their own graphic and text materials into complete routes. The application enables navigating with the use of smartphone, presents the photographs with short descriptions, and filters the objects according to the users’ needs. Last but not least, all users are able to update the data, add their own objects and transmit them to the server.
The project focused on the implementation of innovation – through launching a new e-service in the field of the electronic exchange of digital data concerning touristic routes basing on IT systems – GPX files (for installing on GPS devices) or Java GPS application (for mobile devices). There are similar technologies in the market, however, they lack the Java application for downloading and handling the routes. Moreover, they lack the tools to place the advertisements on the routes. gpsfriendly enables routes exchanges among users via a Java application, furthermore, the app offers navigational tools.

Evidence of success

Because of the good practice it has been possible to:
- create e-services: for Polish clients and – for foreigners
- have 13 298 e-service users until the end of 2012
- create three new work places
