Good Practice Information

Our Community Hub Project centred around the area of Waterlees in Wisbech, in the North of Cambridgeshire. This is an area of high unemployment and high deprivation levels. The concept of the project was to create a digital Community Hub in Waterlees in order to support the common goals shared by the multi-agency teams working in the area and to strengthen community cohesion and capacity.
This project gets financial resources from National and European funds. The budget was £35,000 in 12/13 financial year and £30,000 in 13/14 financial year

Evidence of success

The project has increased the capacity and the awareness of partners of how to use new technology to communicate with their clients. New Technology is now in situe in areas where it was not before increasing the capacity of partners to deal with non-English speaking clients. Skills levels of staff involved with the project have now increased.
