To provide support to SMEs to contract advanced consultancy services for improving non-technological innovations in areas like organization, management, human resources or marketing, looking to an increase in competitiveness and detecting new business opportunities
Good Practice Information
Management Voucher was created and run by the Valencia Regional Development Agency-IMPIVA (since 2013, IVACE), with main stakeholders being local business associations.
A pool of consultancy companies suitable to provide the required services was created through a call for expressions of interest. Then, a call for vouchers aimed at SMEs willing to implement some service innovation was issued.
The approved SMEs used consultants from the pool to implement their project, an implementation report was issued to IMPIVA and, if approved, the voucher paid to the consultant. Maximum voucher value was 10,500€.
Main success factors: a simple application procedure and addressing real needs of SMEs’. The transferability is high, the programme being not depending of territorial or sectorial issues
Evidence of success
Overn a 2-year period, innovation requirements in 205 Valencia SMEs have been implemented by a pool of 35 registered consultant companies, some of them coming from outside the Region. The total budget spent has been over 1.700.000€, and the SMEs came from a wide array of industrial and service sectors.
