Building sector energy efficiency and environmental sustainability

Good Practice Information

The purpose is to give advice to private stakeholders within the building sector and establish networks among SMEs. The advice is about less and smarter use of natural resources in order to build houses with high energy efficiency and materials with light ecological footprints.

Evidence of success

Results obtained:What we can see today, some years after the project started, is that some low-energy houses are built, the permission to build is connected to an efficiency in the energy balance for the building etc.
An important part is that this action is free of charge for the user. It is the builders own choise to participate but the goal is that they should be aware of the potential to built a house with low energy costs (strength). The initial cost to built in this way is approx 10% more expensive and the builder must accept that cost in the short perspective.
