event image This EURIS project and ERRIN joint conference is aimed at regional and European R&I policy-makers and managers, interested in recommendations and guidelines on which policies, measures and support programmes can strengthen and accelerate Open Innovation and cooperation practices between innovation stakeholders, both at the regional and inter-regional level. The conference will raise awareness on the new “Open Innovation 2.0” concept, as a means to contribute to the achievement of the “Innovation Union” flagship initiative and the potential role that open Regional Innovation Ecosystems can play to that end. The main EURIS results will also be showcased at the conference.

event image The Committee of the Regions organises a conference for representatives of EU institutions, Member States and regions to take stock of the implementation of the Innovation Union flagship initiative at regional level. This initiative commits the EU to increase investment in research to 3% of GDP by 2020, which could create 3.7 million jobs by 2025. The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of good practice from Europe’s regions and cities in four areas: Smart specialisation strategies; Innovation, enterprises and jobs; Networking across borders; and Open Innovation 2.0. Good practices from two INTERREG IVC projects - EURIS and PROSESC - are part of the exhibition.

A European workshop 'Bottom-up approaches, best practices and lessons learned, for the development and implementation of low carbon strategies in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe' takes place in Warsaw on 13 November, 2013, during the 19th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP19). The workshop, organised on behalf of the German Embassy Warsaw and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, will discuss opportunities and challenges of implementing low carbon strategies in EU Member States, both at regional and business level. It aims to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience on low carbon strategies, with a particular focus on bottom-up approaches implemented by front runners at the local level as well as in the corporate sector.
