SMART+ has launched its first call for sub-projects’ proposals!

SMART+ is a mini-programme that aims to support regional enterprises and increase their competitiveness in the global market through the transfer of knowledge and identification of good practices.

The call for proposals (period of time in which applications can be submitted to the Joint Technical Secretariat) was opened on 15 October 2010 and concerns the following topics:

    • Consulting Services for SMEs
    • Cooperation between SME & Research Institutes
    • Financial Services for SMEs
    • Company-based Innovation Management
    • SME Network & Cooperation Management
    • Start-up and Spin-off Support

In total, the mini-programme SMART+ has made about €1.8 million available for funding, which means six sub-projects (projects developed via calls for proposals in regions participating in mini-programmes. Mini-programmes involve a limited number of partners developing a joint ...) with duration of 20-24 months. Successful sub-projects will be approved and start early 2011.

 Please note that the call is dedicated at public bodies and bodies governed by public law (e.g. universities, business development agencies; technology centres) from the six SMART+ partner regions (Aragon, Spain; Saxony, Germany; Malopolska, Poland; Western Macedonia, Greece; Cluj County, Romania and Southeast Bulgaria. Each sub-project proposal must also involve partner institutions from at least 3 of these regions.

In the framework of the call, an Interregional Partner Forum will also be organised in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) on 16 November 2010, with the aim to facilitate partner search and help potential applicants developing a good application.

Applications have to be submitted in English before Monday 20 December 2010 at the latest.
